McDreamy is back!
Patrick Dempsey has signed on for the 10 episode adaptation of The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, based on the novel of the same name by Joël Dickers.
The series follows the story of a young writer Marcus Goldblum (Ben Schnetzer) who meets his literary idol Harry Quebert (played by Dempsey), only to find that Harry is being investigated over the death of a 15 year old girl who went missing and is found buried on Harry’s property.
The all-star cast includes Ben Schnetzer (Snowden), Damon Wayans Jr, Virginia Madsen, Kristine Froseth (Apostle), Colm Feore (House Of Cards), Josh Close (Person Of Interest), Matt Frewer, Connor Price, Tessa Mossey, Victoria Clark, Craig Eldridge, Kurt Fuller, Don Harvey, Felicia Shulman and Wayne Knight.
Jean-Jacques Annaud (Seven Years In Tibet, Black And White In Colour) is directing the series which is currently being filmed in Montreal.
The role marks Patrick’s return as a series regular following his 10 year run on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Derek Shepherd.
“It had been long enough,” Patrick said to People.com of leaving the medical drama. “It was time for me to move on with other things and other interests. I probably should have moved on a couple of years earlier. I stayed a bit longer than I should have.”
Last year he starred in Bridget Jones’s Baby, and this year made a special cameo appearance in the American version of the Red Nose Day Actually short film.
He is also set to star in Berlin, I Love You – an anthology feature of 10 love stories from the city of Berlin.
