It’s been five years since Oprah’s spectacular Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure back in 2010 and now the Queen of the television is making her long-awaited return – and she couldn’t be more excited.
“I have been saying since I left Australia that I wanted to get back,” she admitted to NewsCorp.
“I didn’t have the chance to fully embrace it because I was with 320 other people, there were 20 camera crews, there was an itinerary a mile long,” she added.
“So the opportunity to do what I most love, that is to sit in gathering spaces and talk to women about things that I know they value and I value as important wasn’t really high on my agenda,” the 61-year-old revealed.
Embarking on a multi-city speaking tour, the on-screen legend will kick things off at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on December 2 before travelling to Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland.
The last time Oprah was in Australia, the nation went wild. The Australian Tourism board dubbed it the “Oprah effect” when more than 300,000 people applied for tickets to see her appearance at the Sydney Opera House.
She has the gift of the gab, and has promised an one-of-a-kind intimate evening – no doubt the “Oprah effect” will be swooping back in!
Tickets to the tour go on sale on July 27.
