Norman Reedus teases an epic Walking Dead finale

The Rick v Negan showdown is coming.
Dark, intense scene featuring a long-haired man with a grim expression, holding a weapon wrapped with barbed wire.

The moment is almost upon us. In two weeksโ€™ time, The Walking Dead will air the finale for its seventh seasonโ€“ and weโ€™d highly suggest watching it.

Cancel you plans, put on your best trackies and settle in because the highly-anticipated battle between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is here.

Weโ€™re so excited, we can barely type. And weโ€™re not the only ones.

TWD star Norman Reedus โ€“ who plays Daryl Dixon โ€“ has even likened the showdown to Mel Gibsonโ€™s Braveheart while discussing the epic finale.

โ€œItโ€™s completely different than all the other [season finales],โ€ the 48-year-old told Entertainment Weekly. โ€œIt has similar elements, but itโ€™s completely different, and, you know, there might be a little William Wallace [Mel Gibsonโ€™s character] in it.โ€

Just like the famous Scottish lad himself, Rick and his band of followers arenโ€™t prepared to let Negan take their freedom.

โ€œItโ€™s nice to finally let a window open up in this room and let some of this air out of here,โ€ says Norman. โ€œItโ€™s nice to get some freedom and some dirt underneath your feet and start running towards killing this guy.โ€

Lead us into battle Rick!
