Ramsay Street residents were left reeling in Neighbours when Cassius was arrested for the murder of Hamish (Sean Taylor).
But amid all the drama, one question was on everyone’s lips: will Tyler (Travis Burns) be exonerated?
The storyline picks up this week as the Brennans receive news that their brother is on his way back to Erinsborough for a hearing.
As Tyler heads into the police station, Piper (Mavournee Hazel) also sits anxiously outside.
It’s been months since the pair were together. Fans will recall that, much to Piper’s devastation, Tyler refused to see her once he was behind bars. Believing the teenager shouldn’t waste her life waiting around for his release, Tyler ended their relationship.
Tyler can’t believe he’s finally out of prison.
When gorgeous gardener Cassius (Joe Davidson) appeared in town, he managed to make his way into Piper’s heart. Despite a rocky start, the couple fell hard for one another. But the relationship has left Piper heartbroken again.
“She’s made a lot of bad decisions,” Mavournee, 22, tells TV WEEK. “It looks like she has a type, unknowingly: the jail type.”
While waiting to hear his fate, Tyler asks his brother Mark (Scott McGregor) about Piper’s relationship with Cassius. Mark attempts to skirt the topic, but his words leave Tyler uneasy.
Will Piper tell him the truth about Cassius?
Clearly hurt by Piper’s newfound love, Tyler sends a message to his waiting ex – he doesn’t want to see her. But a resolute Piper isn’t about to give up that easily.
“Piper had been defined by her relationship with Tyler,” she explains. “They were Typer!”
And as Tyler learns of his freedom, he’s met by his former lover. This could be one interesting reunion…
