Adelaide bartender Kyle earned his reputation as My Kitchen Rules’ resident Romeo weeks prior to the show’s season eight premiere.
A trailer showed him flirting adorably with rival foodie Bek – and hinted the pair pucker up for MKR’s first-ever kiss.
While fans might not be surprised to hear that most mornings he’s been sharing his bed with a fellow contestant… It’s the matter on who his bedmate that has our jaws dropping.
Rollover Bek because someone closer to home gets the coveted job of bed-warmer…
During our fun-filled photo shoot, the 27-year-old bartender and his teammate (and bestie) Tim, a 30-year-old sales rep, dished to OK! the details of their adventures – culinary and otherwise – on the show.

Tim [R] and Kyle [L] had us in stitches during their exclusive photoshoot with us.
Kyle, how does it feel to be MKR’s Romeo?
Sometimes you’ve got to give the people what they want. [Laughs]
Was it love at first sight for you and Bek?
Kyle: Bek’s very good-looking and extremely funny, so yeah, we were definitely off to a flirty start. I didn’t think I would get married so soon, but it looks like it’s on the cards now!
There’s even baby talk!
Kyle: There is, but I’m only 27, so I’m certainly not in any rush to do any of those things. [Laughs]
So can you tell us more about “the kiss”?
Kyle: I’m not the type to kiss and tell! You’ll have to watch it and see.

C’mon boys – you’re meant to be a team!
Tim, were you surprised by Kyle and Bek’s budding romance?
As soon as we sat down and there were two single girls and two single guys, I knew something was going to happen. I know what Kyle’s like. [Laughs] Then I saw Bek – and there it was!
Were you hoping to find someone special on the show, too?
Tim: I’d be open to it. Before MKR, I really wanted to go on First Dates, so who knows… It’s a Channel 7 show [too], so hopefully they can make it happen!
How long have you guys been single?
Tim: For a bit. I’m a little older than Kyle, so I’m definitely open to chilling out [with someone special] a little bit. I don’t need to party for the rest of my life.
Kyle: I’ve been single about three years.
Are you big partiers?
Tim: We enjoy a beer watching the footy…
Kyle: Not outrageously, just on the weekend.
Did you get to know each other even better on the show? Any secret snorers?
Kyle: We didn’t sleep in the same bed!
Tim: Although I jumped in his bed in the mornings…
Kyle: He did, but just for a chinwag. [Laughs]

Tim [L] wasn’t surprised by Kyle’s [R] romance on the show: ‘I know what he’s like’.
Are you fans of dating apps like Tinder?
Kyle: We have been on Tinder in the past. I¬ think half the [Group 1] table were on it!
Tim: We aren’t allowed to have it at the moment, but as soon as that ban comes off, I’ll probably download it!
Do your cooking skills impress the girls?
Tim: Absolutely, it’s an impressive skill. A lot of people don’t expect us to be able to cook…
Kyle: Including some around the table, I think. They see us and think “dude food”.
Where did you learn to cook?
Tim: I grew up cooking. My old man is a chef and my mum is Italian!
Kyle: I’ve been cooking since I was 13. Chicken fettuccine was the first thing I learned to cook.

Cheers to what’s hopefully a good cook, boys!
Kyle, we learn on the show that you’re a big eater. Did you ever go hungry?
We don’t get told much about what’s going to happen at the instant restaurants. For the first one, I had brekkie in the morning and then later I just had a snack, thinking a three-course meal was coming. But the entrée was just soup and the main didn’t hit the table until close to 11pm, so I hadn’t really eaten much in 15 hours. I was starving!
What’s it like coming face to face with the “angry, angry man”, aka Tyson?
Kyle: Well, I’m about a foot taller and 40kg heavier, so it wasn’t too scary. [Laughs]
Tim: I guess he and Amy maybe had higher expectations that weren’t met.

The angry man himself, Tyson.
Were you impressed by the standard of cooking among the contestants?
Tim: It seemed better [than past seasons]. I was watching [a season seven] episode and I thought, ‘We can cook better than these guys!’ So I texted Kyle to tell him we should apply.
Kyle: I’m easily convinced into doing something fun.
Was leaving your jobs to go on the show a tough decision?
Tim: I was definitely freaking out.
Kyle: It wasn’t really that out-there for me… I like to book a one-way ticket and go wherever I want – I’ve done it five times.
Tell us about the beards…
Kyle: When we applied for the show, Tim and I were having a bit of a “beard off”, seeing who could go without shaving the longest and grow the best beard. Then once we got on the show we had to keep them, so I dare say we are still going!

That’s a wrap!
