Remember Nelly and JP – the ‘lovebirds’ from last season of My Kitchen Rules? Well they split, and Nelly Riggio is now dating dessert king Adriano Zumbo!
Yep, according to The Daily Telegraph, Adriano hired Nelly to work in the research and development team for his patisserie four months ago, before her relationship with JP broke down at the end of last year.
Adriano took his new love off for a romantic holiday to the Maldives last week, and while he’s posted photos of the pair on his news feed in the past (we thought it was just for work), this was the first time he properly unveiled their relationship.
It comes as a surprise, seeing as Nelly was totally loved up with her now ex JP on MKR last year! The last time he featured on her feed was 12 weeks ago, when the pair were holidaying in the Whitsundays.
Before Adriano’s Channel 7 show Zumbo’s Just Desserts debuted last year, he’d spoken of wanting to find love again after an engagement he had during his early 20s went “pear-shaped.”
He told the Sydney Morning Herald: “I’ve become good at judging whether a girl wants to be around you just because she’s after your status or because you’re popular.
“I’ve never been worried about being alone and there is no pressure to get married, although I would love to do it one day with the right girl.
“I need a strong woman who can handle the attention I get and not get upset if I cuddle a stranger for a social photo.”
So we don’t mean to jump the gun, but can you imagine how amazing Nelly and Adriano’s wedding cake will be?!
