My Kitchen Rules contestant Adam Anderson’s ex-wife Cindy has come forward accusing him of not paying thousands of dollars in child support since remarrying his MKR partner Carol.
“We get no financial support at all,” Cindy revealed in an interview with A Current Affair.
Cindy revealed that the sums Adam owes are huge and that they have been piling up. She also claims he never sees his five children.
“Just the child support is $36,000,” Cindy claims.
“The children also have no emotional support from him. He does not ring them, come and see them.
As for birthdays and Christmas? Cindy says, “No nothing. They do not receive a card in the mail, not even a phone call.”
She also alleges that Adam is a long-time friend of one of the show’s judges, Pete Evans, thereby compromising his role as a an unbiased contestant.
“He’s known Pete Evans….he knows him through tennis, through coaching him. He openly told his children that he coaches Pete Evans and after we were separated, he was looking for an extra source of income and he was working for Pete Evans at Hugo’s at King’s Cross,” Cindy says.
“It’s such a conflict of interest.”
Cindy finds the descriptions of Carol and Adam on the My Kitchen Rules website a bit hard to swallow. It says the pair are a happy family and the kids visit as often as they can.
“That truth is a bit distorted. He’s never played a massive role in their lives anyway. He would always be gone early in the morning and come home late at night when he lived here. But basically now his role is non-existent (it’s like He’s pretty much wiped his hands of them altogether,” she said.
While Cindy is happy Adam has moved on with a new wife, it was the start of ‘no support’.

“It has only accrued over the last 12-13 months. Which worries me considerably as my youngest is only eight and still has many more years where he needs support from his father.”
Cindy is supporting the whole family on her single wage.
“I service their ongoing health requirements. Their dental bills, doctor bills, medicine…”
Cindy says she is concerned because it has started to impact on her children’s lives.
“The children aren’t playing sport anymore,” she says.
“He agreed to meet half their schooling expenses, which he has not done.
“We’re at the point now where the lack of funding from their father – his legal obligations – is significantly impacting on the children.”
The outstanding child support debt.
Cindy went on to say that it was Adam’s infidelities while they were still married that lead to his out of control spending.
“Unbeknownst to me, in last seven years of our marriage and throughout the pregnancy and birth of our last two children. He was engaging in a substantial amount of promiscuous behaviour,” she says.
When asked why the child support agency has been no help, Cindy seemed to imply that Adam had been hiding his resources and getting paid in cash with multiple jobs at private schools and working as a tennis coach on the side.
“It is ridiculous. It is utterly ridiculous and it seems that [the system] is in favour of avoidance rather than demanding that they meet their obligations.”
Cindy also showed a letter that she claimed she sent to Channel Seven to ascertain what Adam was being paid by the network in order to have his wages garnished for the child support debt.
A Channel Seven spokesperson responded saying: “Production did not receive the letter. This is a private matter between the parties involved, therefore Channel Seven has no further comment.”
Adam’s ex-wife Cindy revealed her gripes to A Current Affair.
Watching an episode of the show, Cindy also revealed that the home that was shown as Adam and Carol’s on screen is in fact, not their home. Cindy also said that Adam wasn’t even that hot in the kitchen, in fact “he was home so late every night, I’d do the cooking for the children and then I’d do a second cook for him.”
Forced to see her ex face on TV every night, Cindy says she finds it “quite insulting and it’s quite brazen”.
