MKR’s Chloe James has married her childhood sweetheart Luca Pietropiccolo in a stunning New York ceremony!
All the details, from her stunning floor-length custom-made Kevin Raphael lace gown to the degustation menu, were planned with the help of her best friend and MKR partner Kelly Ramsay.
“We had a lot of downtime between cooking so we planned everything for the wedding behind the scenes, especially the degustation menu, just to take our minds off the pressure of the show,”Chloe exclusively tellsWoman’s Day.
“We chose New York because we’re in love with it! I’ve been twice before and I could live there. It’s an incredible city.
“I wanted a formal wedding with chandeliers, candelabras, gold cutlery, lots of history and white silk tablecloths.”
Chloe and Luca tied the knot with a traditional Catholic ceremony in front of 30 close family and friends, including fellow MKR contestants Thalia and Bianca who the pair became close to during filming of the show.
While Chloe shed a tear before entering the church, she pulled it together for her walk down the aisle, but by the time the couple reached their vows, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
“Perhaps it was a release for all of us,” says Chloe, who has an 8-year-old son Dylan from a previous relationship.
“It had been a long two-year engagement and we’d all been under so much pressure from my time on My Kitchen Rules.
“It’s also a really special moment, telling someone you’re going to love them for the rest of your life.”
The pair first met The Leederville Hotel in Perth when Kelly was just 16. The pair had an on, off relationship for two years but didn’t get serious until meeting again four years later and soon fell head-over-heels for each other.
“This time I had Dylan, and Luca knew I wouldn’t let him back into my life if he wasn’t going to be there in the long run,” says Chloe. “And they’re really cute together.” Luca agrees he loves his role as stepdad.
