The home visits brought some couples closer together and pushed others to their limits tonight on Married At First Sight. Here’s where our remaining seven couples stand in the love stakes.
Simon and Alene
It was clear from the outset of this episode that Simon was struggling. The man seems genuinely fed up with the entire process. He will not be drawn on answering any personal questions on how he feels about Alene. And while I respect that some things should remain private, I’m actually on #TeamAlene for this one. Sorry Simon, but no-one is expecting you to declare your love from the rooftops. The poor girl (and the Australian public) just want to get a sense of whether you’re still into this relationship or not? My advice: fess up before you mess things up for good!
Anthony and Nadia
Is it just me, or is Anthony getting harder and harder to like? Also, did anyone else see that he has a small statue of the initial “A” in his home? Is that supposed to stand for “Awkward”? After listening to Anthony loose his cool while on the phone to his internet provider, I wouldn’t blame Nadia for reconsidering this relationship. In fact, after this week, I’d probably encourage it.
Sean and Susan
After a week on the farm, Susan decided that this lifestyle wasn’t for her – and broke Sean’s heart into a thousand tiny pieces. I don’t blame Susan. It’s a huge ask for someone to shift their life across the country – not to mention the responsibilities she would have to take on at the farm. But I’m not going to lie, if Sean and Susan can’t make it work, I may lose faith in love for good. It’s a cruel, cruel world out there…
Michelle and Jesse
I’m calling it: Michelle is just not into Jesse and never will be. She certainly wasn’t impressed by the fact that he still lives at his mum’s house, nor was she interested in taking over the family fruit shop. It would have been nice to see Michelle own her feelings, be honest and tell Jesse that it’s a no from her. It just feels like they are drawing about an inevitable break-up and that Jesse is going to be more broken-hearted the longer it goes on.
Cheryl and Andrew
Andrew’s family met Cheryl for the first time tonight and things were suitably awkward. While I want to believe these two are genuine, I’m not convinced. I don’t hold high hopes for a happy-ever-after here.
Andy and Vanessa
Andy’s best mate Tommy wasn’t having a bar of Vanessa, but he’s just worried about her getting in the way of his bromance with Andy. These two have been pretty low-key the entire season, which means they are probably relatively normal, which means there may be the tiniest chance.
