NW caught up with Married At First Sight bride Cheryl to chat about her awkward wedding to entrepreneur Jonathan – you know, the wedding that ended with Jonathan’s ex-girlfriend’s twin crying “I love youuuuu” as she was given the old heve-ho by Cheryl’s sisters who are basically the Gold Coast’s answer to the Kardashians? – and she dropped a major bombshell.
She thinks of Emma as a friend!
WHAT?!
“Emma is so lovely. Like, oh my God – I want to go out to lunch with her again!” she says giggling.Weird. “Yeah, weird!” Cheryl agrees.
So what ACTUALLY happened during that fight?
“OK, cos obviously I knew Jonathan had one sister, and when she came over she was like, ‘I’m another sister’, and I was like, ‘Sorry?’ she recalls. “I was like, ‘Waaaaait – there’s always a crazy girl and here she is.’”
Despite the drama on the day, Cheryl says she has nothing but love for Emma. “I was super confused and didn’t really know what was going on so when I sat back and watched it, ‘I was like, ‘Oh my God – this is too funny! Where’s my popcorn.’”

Though she bares no grudge against Emma, Cheryl tells us she still doesn’t understand why she was invited to the wedding in the first place.
“Obviously it was a very strange thing. We get to invite whoever we like, and Jonathan made it quite obvious it was going to be a shit fight – he knew something was going to happen,” she reveals.
“So kind of on your Wednesday you don’t want drama, but he knew it was gonna happen. So I don’t know why he would really invite her? I guess they’re close but if there was gonna be drama, yeah…”
Yeah, we don’t know either. It might have something to do with damn good TV though?
