Malcolm Turnbull may be a busy man, but that doesn’t mean he’s completely out of the loop when it comes to pop culture!
The Australian Prime Minister has ‘cast’ his vote for the 2018 TV WEEK Gold Logie Award. Well, in a way.
The 63-year-old politician appeared on WSFM’s ‘Jonesy & Amanda’ show earlier today, where he spoke with hosts Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and Gold Logie nominee Amanda Keller.
During their interview about tax cuts, Malcolm took a quick break to throw his support behind Amanda for the prestigious award.
“Is there some money [in the budget] for Amanda to win a Gold Logie?” Jonesy cheekily asked the PM.
“Amanda good luck for that!” Malcolm said, after saying he thought she was a “favourite” to win and didn’t need any additional support from the federal budget.
Then, without any prompting whatsoever (read: with lots of prompting), he told the hosts “I’ll say ‘Amanda for gold’!”

Amanda is nominated alongside Tracy Grimshaw, Rodger Corser, Andrew Winter, Jessica Marais and Grant Denyer.
