The biggest love story of Married at First Sight this season appeared to crumble when bride Susan, 37, told her hubby, Sean, 35, “maybe we’re not meant to be” after visiting his rural Queensland property.
The distance factor became too much for the mining truck driver, who says she lives “a very different life” in WA.

With mining technician Sean unable to relocate because of his two children, it seemed there was no other option for the duo.
But in a revealing interview with OK!, Susan says this wasn’t quite how it played out IRL…
Please tell us this isn’t the end for you and Sean?
It wasn’t the end for me at all. He’s a nice guy and it’s very easy to be in love with him.
So his homestay didn’t turn you off?
Not at all!
Phew! Because it looked like the cracks were starting to show…
It [being friends] is something that we spoke about pretty much every day of the experiment, [this] is just the first time that we talked about it on the show.
So could you see yourself moving to his farm?
Yeah, but I would change a few things. I would get air conditioning and I would fix the fly screens [laughs]. I thought it was really pretty.
Did you meet his children while you were there?
No, I didn’t, but I did speak to them on Skype a lot. They are little, adorable cuties.
How did you feel about becoming a step-mum?
I suppose I saw how much they loved their dad, so I thought that if I would be right for him, I would be right in that role as his partner for them.
Did you talk about having more children down the track?
We did, and we agreed that if it were with the right person we’d be open to talking about it. I basically never wanted kids my whole life until about a year ago… now I think it would be nice.
Did Sean put a real ring on it?
Observant eyes have noticed Susan has been sporting some new bling on her wedding finger.
“It is a new ring, actually,” she tells OK!. “I got it after the show finished and I love it.” Interesting!
