The 2022 TV WEEK Logies nominees have been announced and, like always, we’re celebrating new and emerging Aussie talent.
In 2006, the Graham Kennedy Award for New Talent was introduced to recognise Australia’s newest stars who have made their mark in the entertainment industry over the past year.
Up for the Most Popular New Talent Award this year are Matt Evans, Alessandra Rampolla, Carlos Sanson Jr, Melanie Bracewell, Tony Armstrong and Will Lodder.

Matt Evans shot to fame in September last year when he joined the cast of Home and Away.
“It is crazy how much I’ve learnt. It is like getting paid to go to school. My first day in the studio, I kind of had a bit of a freak out because it’s just a lot of people around and I didn’t know what I was doing. I’m just trying to learn on the job,” he said of his Summer Bay debut.
But the 25-year-old isn’t just known for his portrayal of Theo Poulos on the soap. Matt’s first foray into television was on The Voice in 2020, where he showed off his singing chops.

Alessandra Rampolla joined fellow relationship experts John Aiken and Mel Schilling on Married At First Sight for its eighth season in 2021.
Since then, the certified sexologist has become a fan-favourite for her wisdom and caring nature.
Married At First Sight is also nominated for Most Popular Reality Program.
Tony Armstrong’s star has risen exponentially the past 12 months, so it’s not surprising the AFL-star-turned-news-presenter is nominated for the coveted Graham Kennedy Award.
The 32-year-old is nominated for his work on ABC’S News Breakfast program, though he also appears regularly on The Project alongside Carrie Bickmore and Lisa Wilkinson.

Comedian, writer and radio announcer Melanie Bracewell is nominated for her work on The Cheap Seats.
On the Channel 10 series, which is also nominated for Most Popular Comedy Program, Melanie and Tim McDonald take a look at the week that was from major news stories, entertainment and viral videos.
Carlos Sanson Jr was a breakout star on Stan’s comedy-drama series Bump, which is written and directed by acting royalty Claudia Karvan.
The 24-year-old Australian-born Chilean actor landed the part of Santi after years of getting knocked back for acting roles in Australia.
One of Australia’s brightest emerging actors, Will Lodder, has been nominated for his first Logie for his role in the critically-acclaimed series Love Me.
The 21-year-old plays Aaron, who navigates the difficult emotions of love and loss after his mother dies.
“It’s important to show males experiencing these emotions and it’s given me a better understanding of the wider variety of roles I want to play,” Will said of his role.
