Little Big Shots kicked off last night and viewers were very impressed with the pocket-sized stars on show.
There’s was lots of singing and dancing, but most people were blown away by young Charlie and his sheep shearing.
TV WEEK caught up with the young farmer to find out more about his life in the country and what he loved about appearing on the show.
Where is your farm?
My farm is in the bush in New South Wales between Wagga Wagga and Albury.
What year are you in at school?
Kindergarten.
How old are you?
I just turned six in the first week of August.
How old were you when you sheared your first sheep?
I started shearing my teddy bears when I was two years old, but I blade shore my first lamb in January this year.
What do you love most about shearing?
I like it when the sheep are friendly.
How hard is it to do?
It’s not even hard.
Do you have a technique?
I like shearing with the old blades.
How did your dad teach you to shear?
He didn’t teach me I just copied him.
What else do you and your dad enjoy doing on the farm together?
We enjoy feeding sheep, weighing lambs, riding in the tractor, anything and everything on the farm.
How many sheep have you sheared in your young life?
About 20.
Have you ever been injured while shearing?
No (not yet).
What did you think of Shane when you met him?
He was funny, he was kind, and he was really nice.
What did you like about being on a TV show?
Being up on stage, showing people what I can do.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
A SHEEP SHEARER!
What are some of your other hobbies?
Playing AUSKICK on Saturday morning and playing with my pet lambs. I also like playing with my toy tractors and sheep which have taken over mum’s entire house!
