If youโre like us, youโve already read every single one of Liane Moriartyโs books.
Then as a chaser, you quickly devoured the TV adaptation of her genius offering, Big Little Lies.
So this latest update will be music to your fan girl ears.
Last week, we farewelled the ensemble cast of HBOโs widely popular BLL in a dramatic finale.
While whispers of a season two did the rounds, the director of the show, Jean-Marc Vallee, quickly crushed all our dreams and poo-pooed the idea.
โTo do a season two, Iโm not for it. Big Little Lies two? Nah. We wonโt give you a season two because itโs so good like this. Why spoil it,โ he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Enter Australian author and the showโs brain child, Liane Moriarty, whose since admitted sheโs very open to the idea.
โI have started to think about ways this could continue,โ Liane revealed in a new interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.
โThe producers have asked me to see if I can come up with some ideas. I wouldnโt write a new book but perhaps a new story and then weโll see what happens.โ
โIโm absolutely open to it because, once I started thinking, it was too much fun to see what I could do and to see these characters again. And thereโs definitely places you can go.โ
In fact, she already knows what plot lines it would focus on.

Nicole Kidman, Liane Moriarty, Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea at the showโs premiere.
Discussing how the show left out the bookโs exploration of Bonnieโs troubled past, Liane believes it sets the second season up perfectly.
โThe obvious thing is, first of all, I think we could bring in more of Bonnieโs story from the book,โ the 50-year-old revealed to the publication.
โAnd also what happens next [for Nicole Kidmanโs character Celeste]. Thatโs the question thatโs also a really interesting thing, when youโve been through a relationship like that, how do you feel now?โ
โHow would she feel? Sheโs grieving. Sheโs still grieving for the end of a terrible relationship and I think that would be a really interesting thing to explore. So thereโs a whole lot of different storylines.โ
OK, weโll happily give our left kidney to get the ball rolling on this. But in all seriousness, what will it take to actually make it happen?
โI think everybody is pretty keen,โ the New York times best-seller explained.
โThey all loved working together but I think the thing is the story has to be right. So if is right, and if [screenwriter] David E. Kelley is happy to get the screenplay right, then I think thatโll do it.โ
Your move, David E. Kelleyโฆ
