Kim Kardashian is in crisis mode after explosive allegations that Kanye West cheated on her several times – even while she was pregnant. As the scandal broke in the US, a source extremely close to the Kardashian family tells Woman’s Day that they’re scrabbling to make sense of a Canadian model’s claims that Kanye has been wooing her in New York behind LA-based Kim’s back for more than a year.
“With a baby on the way, this is truly the worst thing that can happen to Kim,” the insider confides to us. “Kanye won’t even pick up the phone. “Right now, the Kardashians are approaching the whole thing as if it’s not true, but Kanye is a rich rapper who doesn’t hang around with Kim much. To me, there has always been something off about Kanye insisting he stay in New York for weeks on end.” And Leyla Ghobadi, the woman who gave a detailed account of her alleged affair with Kanye to US magazine Star, isn’t backingdown from her claims, despite statements from Kanye’s camp that she’s making it all up for money and fame.
According to the 24-year-old, the year-long affair with Kanye began after he plucked her from the front row of his Atlantic City concert in July last year. Never mind that Kim was seated just metres away in the VIP section, blissfully unaware of his actions.
“He pointed me out to one of the bodyguards and I thought I was in trouble,” Leyla recalls. “A bunch of them grabbed me off my friend’s shoulders and brought me backstage.” Minutes later, during a break, Kanye invited Leyla to join him that night at an after-party. Kim was in the audience, but she never made it to the club. Leyla did. “We spoke for a good two hours and hit it off great,” says Leyla. “He invited me back to his hotel but I refused.”
