Kim Kardashian has publicly called-out American talk-show host Katie Couric, labelling her a “fake media friend” after the TV personality sent Kim a baby gift for her newborn daughter, North.
Kim posted a picture on Instagram of a polka dot PJ set and card Katie sent her, attached with the caption, “#IHateFakeMediaFreinds #MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkShit.”
The card contained nothing but well-wishes, reading, “Dear Kim and Kanye, Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl! And may I humbly suggest you continue the K tradition. Fondly, Katie Couric.”
Kim’s outburst is said to have been triggered by opinions Katie shared in a recent interview with InTouch, where she was quoted questioning the Kardashians’ fame. “I don’t understand – why are they so famous?” Couric said. “I think it’s mostly teenage girls that are interested.”.
Since the furious Instagram post, Katie has apologised to Kim, tellingE! News, “I was responding to a reporter’s question, and explaining how I’m intrigued by the public’s fascination with her family.
“I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I’m happy for Kim and Kanye.”
