Kate and Harry lost to their besties, Aaron and Daniella, in the House Rules grand final.

But even though the Adelaide couple have missed out on the $200,000 prize, they have gained a lot. Kate says Harry, dubbed a “manchild” at the beginning of filming, “grew up” while on the show.

“He learned so much about himself, as did I,” she tells TV WEEK.

“We managed to trust each other and communicate better and work together as a team, which we didn’t do really well before. So besides our beautiful house, that’s definitely something that we’ll take away from House Rules, which is pretty amazing.”

But that’s not all. Mum-of-one Kate says she’s feeling “more confident” after spending so much time in front of the camera. Before the show, she’d never done any modelling, despite looking remarkably similar to supermodel Jennifer Hawkins.

“I’m honestly not photogenic and I didn’t have great skin growing up,” she explains.

Now Kate, who is a teacher, is open to the idea of doing more TV.

Now Kate, who is a teacher, is open to the idea of doing more TV.

“I definitely didn’t think that going into it, but as the process has gone along and people have been really complimentary, I’ve kind of thought about it,” she says. “If the circumstances were right, that would be great. Never say never.”

Her partner Harry, a carpenter, has also warmed to the idea.

“It’s funny, because at the start of it I wasn’t very confident in myself,” he says. “But now I would love to do something in the media, radio or anything. If something pops up, I would jump at the idea.”

His TV dream? A lifestyle show with Kate.

“That would be the perfect scenario. Time will tell. Hopefully they can make a show for us!”
