Four months have gone by since former Home And Away star Johnny Ruffo was diagnosed with brain cancer, and he’s been on the road to recovery ever since. Now, the 29-year-old has shown his incredible transformation.
He took to Instagram to share his amazing progress with a before-and-after photo of his huge scar.
The former X-Factor star wrote: “What a huge difference, now I just need my hair back.”
Fans and friends were quick to share their well-wishes.
“You’re a true inspiration! Everyone is here for you, mate,” one person wrote.
Johnny had a seven-centimetre tumour removed from his brain, and has recently been undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy to get rid of the remaining 5 per cent of the tumour.
The hardship hasn’t wavered his positivity, however, and he continues to be involved in charity work for Cure Brain Cancer. He also teased in October that he was back in the studio!
It was in August that the young star revealed the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis.
“So I have the news,” Johnny wrote on Instagram. “It was a bit of a shock and I’ve got an interesting journey ahead and a bit of a battle.
“I am starting aggressive treatment for the next few months to fight the diagnosis of brain cancer. Please stay positive for me and I’ll try to update you guys on my progress.”
We wish Johnny all the best of luck through the rest of his recovery.
