Speculation of who could be the fourth judge on The Voice Australia in 2018 has been swirling for months but the official word is finally here.
It’s Joe Jonas!
The 28-year-old singer/songwriter was made famous when he sang with his two brothers, Nick and Kevin, in a boy band called The Jonas Brothers. After testing out his acting skills in hit Disney musicals like Camp Rock, he eventually walked away from his band in 2013.
The multi-platinum artist is now the lead vocalist in dance-rock band DNCE (their hits include ‘Cake By The Ocean’ and ‘Body Moves’) and is also engaged to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.
Joe will be joining returning coaches Delta Goodrem (Joe’s younger brother Nick dated Delta in 2012), Boy George and Kelly Rowland. Sonia Kruger will also return as host.
Speaking on the Today Show this morning he said he was “so excited” by the news (you can watch the clip above).
“It’s a really great team of people and with incredible musicians. I’m just thrilled to be part of this show,” he said.
“I can’t wait to work with some of the amazing talent over there.
And he won’t just be coaching, he’ll be performing too.
“I’m going to make sure we bring DNCE over there.”
Joe has had some previous experience with The Voice franchise. He was a mentor on the US show with Adam Levine’s team earlier this year.
“I had a taste of the show in the US this year, so now I have the knowledge to take #TeamJoe all the way in 2018,” he said.
Bring on 2018!
