For actress Jessica Marais, trying on wedding gowns for an upcoming episode of The Wrong Girl was certainly an eye-opener.
The 32-year-old Best Actress Logie winner was previously engaged to her former partner of six years, Home And Away star James Stewart. The pair ended their engagement in 2015 and have a five-year-old daughter together, Scout.
The co-parents recently shared a sweet photo of the three of them together.
Jess recently opened up to Stellar magazine about her parenting duties with James. She said: “Luckily we try to manage and it’s not me on my own with her all the time. She [Scout] has her father and his family, so we just do the best we can.”
Jess admits she had plenty of laughs playing dress-ups on set of The Wrong Girl. In fact, it almost felt the real deal.
“It was really fun,” Jess, who plays Lily on the Network Ten drama, says. “I’m sure that for the production crew, getting everything together was like they were planning a real wedding.”
While Jess says the wedding scene was “beautiful to film”, should the time come for her to walk down the aisle in real life, the mum-of-one declares she won’t be accepting any fashion advice from her on-screen character.
Lily opts for a more modern dress design to wear on her big day.
“It wasn’t necessarily exactly as Jess would do it,” the actress laughs. “But having said that,
I’m not getting married any time soon!”
