Sparks were flying between Jamie Durie and Danielle Spencer on Melbourne Cup day.
Bachelor Jamie was a big hit with the fillies off the field on the day of the race that stops the nation, the Melbourne Cup.
Amidst the fashionistas and the mayhem at Flemington, veritable stable of beauties were seen throwing themselves at the charismatic celebrity gardener, including Russell Crowe’s ex-wife Danielle Spencer.
The pair were seen leaving the track together on Melbourne Cup Day but Danielle was just one of at least six women 44-year-old Jamie looked to be smitten with during the Spring Racing Carnival.
It’s certainly the right place for romance – last year Jamie met SBS TV host flame Anjali Rao at the event before they split six months ago. The Bachelor’s Blake Garvey and Louise Pillidge also made their first public appearance together, put on a united front in the birdcage.
“Danielle and Jamie were laughing and spending plenty of time together,” says an onlooker.
“There was definitely some flirting going on and they left the racecourse together.”
Dressed in an eye-catching turquoise dress, the blonde beauty and Jamie continued the celebrations at the Lavazza after-party, with sources telling us they barely left each other’s sides.
Jamie, who has been quite the heartbreaker over the years, having been engaged three times, wasn’t short of female company on Derby Day either, surrounded by a flock of stunning ladies including Olympian Torah Bright, 27, who split from husband Jake Welch last year.
“I’m loving my life,” Jamie tells Woman’s Day. “It’s been great. The Cup’s my one chance a year to catch up with all my old mates… it’s a very busy few days.”
