Ever since she joined the cast of Home And Away back in 2014, model and mum-of-two Pia Miller has copped her share of criticism.
The media has dubbed the brunette beauty, who plays Summer Bay police officer Katarina Chapman, a diva.
But according to the 33-year-old’s co-star Jake Ryan, the label couldn’t be further from the truth.
“I think people would be surprised about how non-princessy she is,” Jake, who plays Robbo, tells TV WEEK.
“She likes to get her hands dirty, especially on set.”
And the actor declares that, contrary to media reports, there’s no tension on set between cast members.
“There’s a really good dynamic here,” the 34-year-old says. “Everyone is really close, and we’ve got each other’s backs.”
He says the show’s cast and crew spend time together off-set.
“We all hang out outside of work, which is really nice,” he says. “It’s a good mix [of people] at the moment.
“I don’t know what it was like before I came, but it’s a good bunch of people to work with.”
In fact, the hunky Summer Bay resident considers his co-star James Stewart, who plays Justin Morgan, to be the glue that holds the team together.
“Jimmy leads the way and shows all us slightly younger guys the ropes, which is good,” Jake says.
Pia is currently branching out from Summer Bay to star in cop thriller, Bite Club.
The show follows two detectives on the hunt for a serial killer among a series of shark-attack survivors (who call themselves the ‘bite club’).
It’s unconfirmed what role Pia is yet to play in the series but we can’t wait to see her!
