Details from Bruce Jenner’s conversation about his gender transition have been leaked, giving insight into how he revealed the revelatory information to his daughters.
Bruce, apparently revealed all on camera with a set insider telling the New York Post that the noted the conversation will air during episode 13 of the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“It wasn’t a jaw-dropping conversation,” a set insider told the New York Post.
“He literally started the conversation with, ‘Hey guys, I’m becoming a woman,’” said an insider. “‘But I’m sure you probably already figured that out.’”
Bruce, 65, is believed to be on the cusp of publicly revealing that he is undergoing a gender transition, after his mother Esther Jenner, recently came out and confirmed it.
“I just learned about [his transition]. Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it,” she told Radar Online.
“I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is…I support him whole-heartedly. I just love him like I always have.”
The set insider also revealed that Bruce made two requests of his daughters. Firstly, that they stop referring to him as Bruce and begin calling him by his the new name that he’s chosen – which he was rumoured to be revealing in an upcoming tell-all interview with high-profile journalist Diane Sawyer.
Secondly, he had instructions for how the girls were to handle any media inquiries about his transition.
“He told the kids that if anybody asks, they are just to respond, ‘Bruce is in a very good and happy place,’” the insider said.
The one thing that he is yet to discuss with the though is whether he will go the full gamut with the transition process and undergo gender reassignment surgery.
“That is such an elephant in the room,” another source told the New York Post. “But the girls are good with elephants.”
Another source noted, “They don’t really want to know.”
Amidst all the media scrutiny over his transition, the former Olympic champion was involved in a fatal car accident earlier this year, but is apparently trying his best to put that behind him and move on.
“His speaking engagements have already quieted down … He’s getting over the shock that a woman has died, but he is also aware that he could be sued.”
Bruce’s whole transition process is reportedly being taped for a documentary series for the E! network that will air later this year and he’s apparently started adapting more to a female life.
“He will wear women’s clothes more around the house and will gradually make little changes in a more public manner,” says a source.
“He feels so much better to be in control of his body and life.”
