We’re still not over last night’s dramatic House Rules finale!
Aaron and Daniella won with a final score of 27 out of 30, beating their good friends Kate and Harry by just two points!
Daniella and Aaron are incredibly grateful for the experience, and the $200,000 prize money.
“Every day I’m waking up pinching myself,” Daniella admits to TV WEEK. “I look over at Aaron and go, ‘Do you realise this is our house?’ Sometimes it’s felt like a bed and breakfast, like we’ve just hired the house for the week on the coast.
“We wake up and we open the blinds and we look out to the back and we just go, ‘Wow, we are so lucky! Out of everyone in Australia, look what we’ve got!’”
Both teams did an incredible job during the final renovation round – take a close look at their work below.
Aaron and Daniella’s Pool Deck:
The judges were ‘wowed’ by Kate and Harry’s work and agreed the cabana hit the “Vegas” house rule perfectly.

Aaron and Daniella’s Pool Deck:
The only thing Wendy didn’t love were the black framed chairs by the bar.
Kate and Harry’s outdoor area:
The judges thought Aaron and Daniella created a “clever” and “indulgent” man-cave in a tight and tricky space.
Kate and Harry’s outdoor area:
Drew said it had an “oasis feel” while Wendy loved the greenery. She felt it “adds some depth and that makes it a real space not just a side passage”.
Kate and Harry’s outdoor area:
Wendy and Drew did not like the doors to the tool shed. But LLB disagreed, insisting that the old paint work was “essential”.
House Rules Winners
The moment Aaron and Daniella realised they had won! “When that nine came in from Wendy, I was astonished!” Aaron tells TV WEEK. “It didn’t hit home for me until Wendy said nine.”
It was so lovely to see the two teams supporting each other on the night.
Congratulations again to Aaron and Daniella on winning House Rules 2017!
