Stepping in to the scrubs is Zoë Ventoura, of Packed To The Rafters and Hyde & Seek fame. We caught up with Home and Away’s newest cast member to find out all about her character.

How have you enjoyed your first few months on set?

It’s been amazing. The best thing about it is the incredible cast and crew. Everyone is so beautiful and welcoming, and I felt like I was welcomed like family from day one. It’s been a really beautiful experience but the work itself can be quite hard, because the nature of the show is that we shoot at a really fast pace, but it’s been wonderful and I’ve had a really great time.

How are we introduced to your character?

It’s an intense first scene in the emergency department! She’s very quickly thrown in the deep end. She comes in to cover for Tori, who is on maternity leave, but she doesn’t know anything else about what’s happening with Tori, Jasmine or Robbo.

I’ve always wanted to play a doctor – it’s such a specific challenge, and I was really excited to tackle it. It was a lot, but I was up for it. I was ready to go.

Tell us a little more about her…

She’s really strong, confident and competent. She also has a lovely sense of humour and is very relaxed. She’s an absolute delight to play, I’m having a really great time with her.

Home and Away airs Monday to Thursday, 7pm, on Channel Seven.
