A nationwide search began when Tane snatched baby Maia from hospital in Home And Away. While he knew it wouldn’t end well, Tane turned himself in to the police.
After being arrested, Tane was looking at jail time. It has certainly been a close call for Tane, but with the right help, he might be able to avoid jail for taking baby Maia.
The key will be having a smart lawyer at his side, but when legal eagle Marshall (Nic English) arrives to take the case, his client-to-be has just had yet another argument with Felicity (Jacqui Purvis)… and Tane (Ethan Browne) is in no mood to talk to anyone.
To make matters worse, when Marshall heads off to Salt to wait, he meets Felicity, who decides the handsome stranger would make the perfect one-night stand to help her move on – a decision that leads to an explosion when Tane finds out.
It’s jeopardised his freedom, she knows, but worse, it’s destroyed any trust he might have had in her.
“She’s so embarrassed and worried that she’s made a fool of herself,” Jacqui, 32, tells TV WEEK.
Trying to clear the air with Tane only leads to another argument, and in the middle of it all, he misses two calls from Rose (Kirsty Marillier) that are a condition of his bail.
She says that unless he explains why he didn’t answer her calls, the police have no choice but to arrest him. But Tane’s pride won’t let him admit what happened.
“Rose and Tane have a complicated relationship that’s based in friendship and care,” Kirsty, 33, tells TV WEEK. “Hopefully, these two can reach an understanding and Tane can see her point of view.”
