Shannon & Curtis (1994):
When foster kids Curtis (Shane Ammann) and Shannon Reed (Isla Fisher) arrived in the Bay, people assumed they were brother and sister. But, Alf (Ray Meagher) caught the teens kissing on the couch and the truth came out. They weren’t related by blood, but adoption – and they were in love. Alf disapproved of the relationship, because they were so young. Before long, they were seeing other people.
Donald & Marilyn (1996):
Considering all the other shocking relationships in the Bay, this one is relatively tame. But, it did cause a stir when beautician Marilyn (Emily Symons) began dating school principal Donald (Norman Coburn), who was almost twice her age. The pair became close when Marilyn was a mature-age student at the school. Their friendship later turned to romance, and they got married. Sadly, it all ended soon after their son died.
Steven & Selina (1996):
Summer Bay High seems to have had more than its fair share of inappropriate relationships! This one saw teen student Selina (Tempany Deckert) falling for young teacher Steven (Adam Willits). He tried to resist his attraction, but he ended up giving in to it. They ended the affair, but the story got out, causing a big scandal. Their relationship picked up again later, where they had one failed attempt at a wedding before finally ending up together.
Kane & Kirsty (2002):
This relationship was so wrong, but fans couldn’t get enough. The big scandal was that Kirsty (Christie Hayes) fell for Kane (Sam Atwell), even though he had raped her sister, Dani (Tammin Sursok), just a year earlier! The pair forged a bond when they were lost in the bush together. After that, they couldn’t keep away from each other. Despite a few bumps along the road, like Dani running over Kane, the couple ended up married.
Rachel & Kim (2006):
As a doctor, Rachel (Amy Mathews) really should have known better. Kim (Chris Hemsworth) started coming to her for counselling after she saved his life. At the first session, the doctor and patient got along well. So well, in fact, that Rachel backed off, realising she was being unethical. But, Kim wasn’t going to let her go easily. They ended up together, and it almost cost Rachel her career.
Brax & Charlie (2011):
This was the ultimate good girl/bad boy relationship. As a cop, Charlie’s (Esther Anderson) job was to keep Brax (Steve Peacocke) and his gang under control. But, Charlie couldn’t keep her own feelings for him under control! Their kisses were super-steamy, and their relationship was one of the hottest ever on the show. It took Charlie’s death to end it. Brax was shattered, as were the fans.
