There’s nothing we love more than a sizzling romance in Summer Bay. And this week, two loved-up couples are taking the next step in their relationship – including a shock proposal!
Hopeful fans already have their eyes on Chelsea (Ashleigh Brewer) and Colby (Tim Franklin), who reunited in recent episodes of Home And Away.
But when secrets come out this week, the pair will question whether they’re truly meant to be together.
“It’ll take some work, but if there’s something worth fighting for it’s this… isn’t it?” Tim, 28, tells TV WEEK.
Meanwhile, Jasmine (Sam Frost) and Robbo (Jake Ryan) give into their feelings and tell each other how they feel. With their love out in the open, there’s nothing holding them back now…
Which couple will it be?
When Chelsea first arrived in the Bay, there was little love from ex-boyfriend Colby.
Despite her attempts to rekindle their relationship, the policeman was determined to rid her from his life. After all, she called off their engagement and broke his heart.
But his grudge didn’t last. They soon fell back into old habits − and each other’s arms.
Tim believes the pair is blissfully ignorant of their problems. He hints there are more challenges ahead.
“They were always going to give this relationship another shot,” he says.
“Too much has gone unsaid and undone. But they have more ups and downs than a roller-coaster. They would be a very amusing couple to watch from afar.”
After a candid conversation with his best mate, Willow (Sarah Roberts), it’s clear Colby is still hiding something. She urges him to come clean to Chelsea or risk losing her again.
At the caravan park, Colby tells his girlfriend about his bond with River Boy Dean (Patrick O’Connor) − and how, before he joined the force, the mates were involved in a car accident. Dean took the fall and went to jail, while Colby remained a free man.
Finally, it all makes sense. But Chelsea is burdened by his revelation.
“There can’t be any lies between them, only the truth,” Tim says.
“She has a very fierce set of morals and ethics.”
The next day, Colby returns to the caravan park with their old engagement ring. He reminds Chelsea how inseparable they once were. They could have that again…
“He’s had this ring burning a hole in his drawer,” Tim explains.
“He’s always acted on instinct, which is what gets him into so much trouble… and fun!”
Is Colby proposing?
While the past continues to plague Chelsea and Colby, the same can’t be said for Jasmine and Robbo.
After weeks of obstacles, including Tori (Penny McNamee) and Robbo’s plan to begin IVF treatment, the happy couple are together at last.
Although Robbo has agreed to have a baby with Tori, it’s Jasmine he loves.
“She’s a positive ball of energy and he’s opened up to her like never before,” Jake, 35, says. “It hits him for six that this person cares so much about him.”
For Jake, who plays the reformed crim, the romantic storyline has been a refreshing change of pace.
“I haven’t been cast in a light, romantic role before, so it’s been fun to see Robbo connect with someone and enjoy sitting in that moment,” he explains.
“It’s nice to be still.”
This week, Jasmine and Robbo go on their first date.
All dressed up, they meet at the pier for a night of romance. Jasmine arrives in a gorgeous white dress, leaving Robbo stunned.
Jasmine, meanwhile, is equally overwhelmed by her feelings for him.
But as they prepare to embark on a sunset dinner cruise, Tori calls with an urgent request. The IVF clinic has accelerated her ultrasound appointment – it’s now in an hour. Robbo races off to be with Tori.
Jasmine is devastated. What a fool she’s been to think it could work.
The next day, Jasmine relays her concerns to Irene (Lynne McGranger) about the baby coming between her and Robbo.
To Jasmine’s surprise, Robbo arrives and asks for her to come with him. He has a surprise. Outside, Robbo walks his girlfriend hand-in-hand to an impromptu picnic on the beach. Jasmine is thrilled!
As they flirt and chat the day away, it dawns on Robbo how lucky he is. He wants Jasmine to know how much she means to him…
“He hasn’t felt this way about someone in a long time,” Jake says.
Could this be the big moment we’ve been waiting for?
