There’s never any shortage of drama in Summer Bay. But in the space of one week, three separate incidences will send shockwaves through the small seaside town.

From a sudden collapse and a violent confrontation to a surprise confession, everyone is in the firing line in Home And Away. By the end of the week, two lives will be in grave danger.

The action-packed week begins as Raffy (Olivia Deeble), Ryder (Lukas Radovich) and Coco (Anna Cocquerel) nervously prepare for their upcoming school exams.

While Ryder is struggling to focus after the traumatic events of last week, Raffy is ready to move forward. Meanwhile, Coco is focused on acing her tests.

Fans will recall the teenage trio recently became trapped in a tunnel when the foundations collapsed around them. Ryder had convinced his friends to spend the night in the hideout after learning about it from River Boy Dean (Patrick O’Connor).

Raffy was knocked unconscious by falling debris and separated from her friends. The schoolgirl was in a bad state when Dean (Patrick O’Connor), Colby (Tim Franklin) and Chelsea (Ashleigh Brewer) finally came to the rescue.

Raffy is comforted by her brothers Brody, Mason and Justin.

This week, on the morning of their exams, Ryder offers to walk Raffy to school. He plans to apologise for putting her in harm’s way. However, Raffy is struck by an intense headache and Ryder is left waiting for her at their meeting spot.

“Raffy hasn’t been feeling 100 per cent since the tunnel incident,” Olivia, 16, tells TV WEEK. “She realises that something’s not right.”

When Ryder arrives at school, he finds Raffy by her locker. He questions his friend about standing him up, worried she’s angry with him. But the confused youngster seemingly has no idea what he’s talking about.

“She’s acting a bit weird and Ryder isn’t sure what’s going on with her,” Olivia explains.

After the exam, the duo head to the Diner to debrief. But on the way, Raffy struggles to walk as the headache strikes again. Ryder looks on in horror as she slurs her words before collapsing to the ground!

At the hospital, Mason (Orpheus Pledger) and Tori (Penny McNamee) are stunned when their younger sister Raffy stumbles into the emergency department, obviously very unwell. She’s closely followed by John (Shane Withington), Marilyn (Emily Symons), Leah (Ada Nicodemou) and Ryder, who brought her to the hospital.

Usually calm and collected, a panicked Tori rushes to help her sister. “Treating Raffy is intense and terrifying for Tori,” Penny, 35, says.

After running some tests, the doctor’s worst fears are realised: Raffy has a bleed on her brain.

“It’s a high-risk operation and Tori is forced to do it under very stressful circumstances,” Penny adds.

With shaky hands and a trembling voice, Tori hugs her sister and promises to do everything she can. Hang in there, Raffy!

Ryder wants to know if his friend will be ok.

On top of trying to save her sister, Tori is also struggling in her own personal life.

Shortly after Robbo (Jake Ryan) agreed to raise a baby with her, the local doctor discovered that Jasmine (Sam Frost) was harbouring feelings for him. Now she’s worried she’s holding them back from being together.

“Tori is concerned when she realises Jasmine and Robbo have feelings for one another,” Penny explains.

“She’s left wondering how this will affect Robbo’s commitment to their plans to undergo IVF.”

At the hospital, Jasmine congratulates Tori on her IVF plans. But the kind-hearted doctor uses the opportunity to suggest that Jasmine clear the air with Robbo and tell him how she really feels about him.

After all, Robbo could very well want to have kids with Jasmine one day. The nurse agrees, and plucks up the courage to tell Robbo how she feels.

To her surprise, Robbo asks for time to think. Jasmine agrees, but fears she may have lost her opportunity to be with the man she loves.

Will these two be able to overcome their obstacles and be together?

Robbo and Jasmine have a serious discussion.

Across town, Dean is struggling to get through to his mum Karen (Georgia Adamson) about getting a psychiatric evaluation.

Her explosive arrival in town last week alerted the River Boy to take immediate action after she attempted to run John down with a car! Dean knows she needs to get help before she hurts someone else – or herself.

“After the crash, he realises that her being in the Bay in her current state will only cause more drama,” Patrick, 25, says. “His persistent requests for her to get help makes Karen become defensive.”

In his caravan, mother and son happily catch up on old times. Dean carefully broaches the topic of Karen seeing a doctor, but things quickly turn sour. Karen fumes at her son for assuming she’s unwell – she’s fine! As the argument escalates, Karen grabs a frying pan and strikes Dean across the head.

Karen attacks Dean.

As he lies unconscious and bleeding on the floor, his unhinged mother reaches for the stovetop and turns on the gas.

For a moment, Karen stops and wonders what she’s doing. But then she gets distracted by a noise outside, unaware the gas is still on.

“His life is in grave danger,” Patrick says. “Karen has done something reckless, leaving both of them helpless as the van fills up with gas.”

Time is running out for these two…
