In shock news over the weekend, fan-favourites Adam Densten and Symon Lovett quit their long-running Gogglebox gig,
Taking to Instagram, the pair announced they were stepping away from the couch after five years and 10 seasons, leaving fans heartbroken.
But among those left reeling from the announcement were a handful of Aussie stars, including The Bachelorette’s Georgia Love as well as Adam and Symon’s former Gogglebox co-stars.
“Sad and exciting news today,” Symon wrote on his Instagram account. “We announced that Adam and myself won’t be returning for season 11 of @goggleboxau. After 5 years we wanted to thank everyone that watched the show, helped make the show and was on the show.
“We were asked to be on Gogglebox 5 years ago, sitting at a pub. We thought we might get some free beers out of it, on that front we’ve well and truly filled out boots. We’re pumped for the future and if you’ve got a job I know a couple of guys. #unemployed”

Adam echoed a similar sentiment on his own Instagram as he also announced the news.
“We are incredibly sad, but extremely excited to announce that our time on @goggleboxau has come to an end and we will be leaving the couch!” he wrote.
“The last 5 years of fun started when we were found at a pub and only said yes to the being on the show because we wanted to go to the Logies. Thank you to the cast, the crew and of course everyone who has watched the show and allowed two idiots have more fun than they could dream of. The biggest thank you of all is reserved for @symonlovett, wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else and literally couldn’t have done it without you,”
Hinting they have plans to remain in the limelight, Adam added: “We’re planning on still being around on your tv and radio a bit longer though, so if anyone has a job for us, we’ve got a lot of time on our hands!”
Reacting to the news, Georgia Love commented, “I’m not mad, just disappointed.”
She also joked: “Can’t wait to see you on The Bachelor!”
Meanwhile, fellow Gogglebox star and new dad Matty Fahd complimented the men on a job well done.
“A mega contribution to the show over the last 10 seasons boys, keeping us in stiches every week. We will miss you and can’t wait to see what is next,” he wrote, adding, “10 x sad faces. Can’t wait to see you boys killing it. GB Family 4 Lyfe.”
Angie Kent, who quit Gogglebox and later starred on the most recent season of The Bachelorette was shocked at the news.
“Holy sh-t balls! Big love fellas! Won’t be the same without you two that’s for sure!” she wrote.
