Even the most seasoned reporters can get caught off guard by a curveball, in this case, it was veteran journalist and co-host of the TODAY show, Georgie Gardner and a question about her use (or lack thereof) of cosmetic injections thrown at her on LIVE TV.
The awkward moment arose during a debate segment about the trivialisation and rise of cosmetic injections featuring 3AW’s Neil Mitchell, who was very against the idea of casual injections.
A fired up Neil questioned the 47-year-old TODAY host:
“Would you have an injection stuck in your forehead, or your cheek, or your lips?”
Georgie who has shared her views on botox in the past quickly replied she would not, then, stammering, she attempted to soften her response.
“But I’m-I’m-I’m figuring I am in the minority- you and I both in the minority Neil!”
Recovering like a star, she ignored the “guffawing” from fill-in co-host, Ben Fordham, and continued the segment like a champion.

Back in 2015, Georgie Gardner told The Australian Women’s Weekly that hardly a day goes when she doesn’t receive an email about her appearance.
“TV is a visual medium and people don’t hesitate to voice their opinions about how you are looking,” she confided. “And when you receive an email at quarter to six in the morning titled “wrinkly witch” it does take the wind out of your sails momentarily.
“But in a way, comments like that make me even more determined to say: ‘Well, this is who I am, wrinkly witch, warts and all’. I have a daughter and I want her to learn that it’s what’s going on inside the heart and the head that really counts.”
She also shared that she had no interest in cosmetic surgery and finds the increasing prevalence of botox disturbing.
“I would never tell other women what to do, it’s entirely up to the individual. But if someone came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder and said: “We think you should consider botox”, then that is absolutely the time for me to hang up my microphone.”

The TODAY show host was noticeably absent from Friday’s show with Ben Fordham filling in, acting as co-host along side Georgie Gardner.
Fans are speculating he and his fiancée, Jasmine Yarbrough, are in the US and will be attending Coachella, arguably the most famous music festival in the world.
