If you’re keen to avoid seeing spoilers for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones… well… we suggest you avoid the internet for the next year. But, also, it’s probably a good idea to stop reading now.
For those of you that LIVE for a good spoiler, you’ll be happy to know that some on-location photos have emerged of the Game of Thrones cast, and there are three very surprising actors in the mix.
Thanks to in-depth fan-site Winter is Coming, we know that the cast have assembled in Seville, Spain, which acts as the setting for The Dragonpit in the series.
Several leading stars have been spotted in the Spanish city, with Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Gwendoline Christie, Joe Dempsie, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Liam Cunningham, Conleth Hill, and John Bradley all seen there.
The actors are otherwise known as (in order), Arya Stark, Sansa Stark, Bran Stark, Brienne of Tarth, Gendry, Tyrion Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Davos Seaworth, Varys, and Samwell Tarly.
While we expected most of the above cast-mates to return, the arrival of three others has thrown fans in to a spin.
Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H’ghar), Faye Marsay (The Waif), and Vladimir Furdik (The Night King) were also photographed on-location, where the finale is being filmed.
What does this mean?! Well, fans are firmly divided in two camps: either the producers are messing with us, or these characters have somehow found themselves in the Dragonpit!
There’s every possibility that both the Waif and Jagen H’ghar are somwhoe in the Dragonpit due to Arya Stark, and of course it’s believable that the battle with the Night King could at some point make its way to this location.
However, there’s also a chance this is just a way for creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss to throw fans off. While filming the sixth season, the pair had actress Sibel Kekelli (Shae) hanging around on set and even put her in costume to tease a ‘return’.
Only time will tell whether these three characters are just a decoy, or are actually set to appear in the Dragonpit, but for now we’re hopeful it’s the latter!
