That makes five in total.

There may only be six episodes left of the Game of Thrones series, but GoT creators have made sure we’ll keep seeing the Westerosi world for MANY years to come.

It was previously confirmed that there would be four spin-offs happening after the series ends, but now there will be another one thrown in the mix! According to EW, Emmy winner Bryan Cogman, co-executive producer of Game of Thrones, will be working with author George R.R Martin on another prequel series.

It’s going to be a long wait till we see Dany and Jon again.

There are no specific details yet about this prequel or any of the upcoming GoT projects, but we do know that whatever Cogman writes will be incredible. He was the man behind such epic episodes like ‘Stormborn’ of season 7 (where Euron Greyjoy’s Iron Fleet attacks the Greyjoys and Sandsnakes), season 4’s ‘The Law of Gods and Men (where Tyrion Lannister was on trial) and season 3’s ‘Kissed by Fire’.

The only things we know so far about any of the prequels is that they’re all set before the events in Game of Thrones, and they won’t involve any of the original cast members. We also won’t see a new title show until one year after the season 8 finale airs, which could be late 2018 or 2019 (we know, it’s painful).

George praised Brian on his blog, writing: “If [Dan and David] have been the kings of Westeros for these past seven seasons, Bryan Cogman has surely been the Prince of Dragonstone … Bryan’s series will be an adaptation, and one that will thrill most fans of the books, I think, set during a very exciting period of Westerosi history.

“And I’ll be working with him every step of the way … we could possibly see two or even three make it to the pilot stage, with one series emerging on air in 2019 or 2020.”

We cannot WAIT!
