Freddie Flintoff is officially the king of the jungle as he took home the crown tonight on the final episode of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!
After six weeks in the South African jungle, Freddie was announced as the winner of the first series tonight, scoring $100,000 for the McGrath Foundation – his selected charity.
Earlier in the episode Chrissie Swan was eliminated and asked to leave the camp, leaving just Barry Hall and Freddie Flintoff as the top two.
The announcement came after the homesick finalists, Chrissie, Freddie and Barry all had an emotional reunion in the jungle with their loved ones.
Chrissie got a visit from her partner Chris and her energetic six-year-old son Leo who she tearfully revealed was suffering from hearing loss, earlier in the show. Freddie was reunited with wife Rachael, and Barry was joined by best mate Gavin.
The three finalists undertake their final challenge.
Of course, just because it was the final episode didn’t mean they got off easy, as the three surviving celebs all underwent a challenge involving a giant “slip and slide” in order to earn a meal. Thankfully Freddie came through and earned them a feed.
The results were of course hilarious and the crazy challenges will be much missed now that the season of the show has drawn to a close.
Congratulations to Freddie and of course to all the celebs who survived their grueling time in the jungle!
