Game of Thrones‘ leading lady Emilia Clarke has spilled the beans on the final season, which is set to air on Foxtel in 2019.
The actress, who stars as Daenerys Targaryen, has told The Herald Sun that the eighth season will leave fans divided.
“People will scream and people will say, ‘That’s exactly what I wanted'”, she tells the publication.
“And some people will go, ‘Huh?’ — my mum, probably,” she continues.
Filming for Season 8 began in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in October 2017 and is due to finish mid-2018.
Game Of Thrones has surpassed the timeline of the original books on which it is based, George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series.
So, as with the previous season, Season 8 will be loosely adapted from details the author has shared with the showrunners about his future novels.
As such, the main cast have been put under immense pressure to reveal secret plot details.
Emilia expertly dodged questions about the upcoming series as she walked the red carpet at the annual Met Gala in New York City on Monday night.
When Vogue asked if there was anything the actress could tell them about the upcoming season, she simply replied: “I’m in it.”
Unless one of the Game of Thrones stars accidentally lets something slip before then, it looks like we’ve got a few hundred days left until we find out what’s in store.
