Ella Scott Lynch, Gyton Grantley and Robert Mammone are set to lead a stellar cast in the upcoming gangland drama Informer 3838.
The mini-series is based on the events involving gangland lawyer turned police informer Nicola Gobbo, played by Love Child and Doctor Doctor star Ella.
Informer 3838 will tell the story of how Nicola was the ultimate double agent throughout gangland wars.
Underbelly alumnae Gyton Grantley (House Husbands, The Dressmaker, Balibo) will reprise his role as Carl Williams and Robert Mammone (Fat Tony & Co., Mystery Road, Water Diviner) will again play Tony Mokbel.
The series also boasts big names from Australian television, with fan-favourites such as Stephen Peacocke (Home and Away, Five Bedrooms), Richard Davies (Offspring, Tidelands, Oddball) and Olympia Valance (Neighbours, Playing For Keeps) on board.
Also starring are major actors Rhys Muldoon (Les Norton, Rake, House Husbands), Jane Harber (Offspring, A Moody Christmas, INXS) and Hollie Andrew (Fat Tony & Co., Somersault, Supernova).
Nine reveals the hotly anticipated series will unveil the untold story of how one woman’s secret double life helped to fight the Melbourne gangland wars and trigger a Royal Commission.
“Nicola had the ultimate trust of Melbourne’s underworld and was gangland’s go-to defence lawyer, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Carl Williams, Tony Mokbel, the Morans, the Carlton Crew and Roberta Williams,” Nine says of the mini-series. “While Nicola knew the underworld’s dirty secrets, they had no idea of hers.”
