Getting the call-up to star in ABC drama Barracuda has earnt Elias Anton recognition from his peers, a TV WEEK Logies nomination for Most Outstanding Newcomer and continued work.
But that’s not what he’s most thankful for.
“It actually made me into the man I am today,” the 18-year-old tells TV WEEK. “I learnt so much from that experience. And it made me more mature, more humble
and more organised.”
TV critics and viewers alike have praised Elias for the way in which he brought aspiring swimmer Danny Kelly to life in the television adaptation of Christos Tsiolkas’ novel Barracuda.
However, the schoolboy simply wanted to make his mum proud.
