Reunited, and it feels so good! The beloved cast of Downton Abbey held a mini reunion over the weekend, with former stars Dan Stevens, Michelle Dockery and Allen Leech catching up in Los Angeles.

The mini reunion comes in the wake of the announcement that the Downton Abbey movie is officially moving ahead.

Michelle, who played the iconic Lady Mary Crawley on the hit show for six years, shared a black and white photograph from their catch up.

โ€œDorks,โ€ she captioned her Instagram post.

Meanwhile Dan, who played the late Matthew Crawley, joked about his characterโ€™s possible surprise return in the film.

After sharing the same black and white picture, Dan joked โ€œShould Matthew have a moustache for the #DowntonAbbeyMovie?โ€ in the caption.

Allen, who plays Tom Branson, shared a bright and happy selfie with Michelle.

โ€œLook whoโ€™s in LA! The Dockmiester General. Soon to be my sister-in-law again,โ€ he wrote on Instagram.

Downton Abbey aired for six seasons from 2010. The period drama followed the aristocratic Crawley family, and their servants, in the early 20th century.

The showโ€™s return to the screen was confirmed in July, when it was announced that an untitled Downton Abbey project was in the works. The film, which is being produced by Focus Features and Carnival Films, is expected to premiere in 2019.

Main cast members including Maggie Smith (Dowager Countess Violet Crawley), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary Crawley), Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith Crawley), Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates) and Elizabeth McGovern (Cora Crawley) are all set to reprise their roles.

One leading lady wonโ€™t be stepping back in to her extravagant costume, with Lily James revealing her character, Lady Rose MacClaire, wonโ€™t be returning.

โ€œMy character Rose moved off to New York, so it would be far-fetched to bring her back,โ€ Lily tells People.

โ€œI would have loved to have come back for a scene, but for a movie it canโ€™t be like a Christmas special and it needs to be a focused story-line. There was no space for Rose.โ€

Lily James will not return as Rose.

Although weโ€™re sad we wonโ€™t get to check in with Rose, we canโ€™t wait to see how the rest of our favourites from Downton Abbey are doing.
