Kardashian-patriarch Bruce, 65, has reportedly already taped the sit-down interview with Diane Sawyer in which he shared with her the name he plans to use after he completes his gender transition.

While the name is not yet known publicly, “He referred to her in the third person,” a source told the New York Post.

The source added that Bruce did not wear feminine make-up for the interview.

Bruce’s mother, Esther Jenner, earlier confirmed the gender transition rumours that have followed the former Olympic champion for some time.

“I just learned about [his transition]. Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it,” she told Radar Online.

“I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is…I support him whole-heartedly. I just love him like I always have.”

Bruce is apparently hoping to let the dust settle from the horrific car accident that he was involved in last week before proceeding with any public discussion of his planned transition though.

Police are reportedly investigating Bruce after he was involved in the smash in LA that left one person dead and eight others injured.

The accident occurred on a notorious accident black-spot on a stretch of the Pacific Coast highway in Malibu. Photos from the scene of the smash show mangled vehicles lining the road. Of the four cars and eight people involved in the incident, there was one fatality.

“[He] is giving all of his time and energy right now into helping out with the investigation and in making sure that there is peace for those close to the deceased,” a source told Radar Online.

“Everybody feels for him,” an insider told Us Weekly. “He’s been fighting a private battle and has come so far. Now he’s really shaken up.”

The pile-up was believed to have been a chain-reaction crash with Bruce reportedly rear-ending a Lexus, after that driver had rear-ended a Toyota Prius. It was the driver of the Lexus who was killed, according to the Los Angeles Times, after their car was propelled into oncoming traffic.

Bruce has issued a statement expressing sympathy for the families involved:

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” Bruce said in a statement released to Us Weekly.

“It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

There’s no doubt that it’s a challenging time for Bruce, but he is reportedly getting plenty of support from his stepdaughters Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian as well as his daughters with ex-wife Kris Jenner, Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

“All the girls checked in with Bruce after the accident,” a source told Us Weekly. “All of them. They all wanted to make sure he was okay and to show their support. They really are trying to be there for him as much as they can right now. This is tough on him.”

Hopefully Bruce will be welcomed with public support when he finally chooses to talk.
