In music to the ears of Aussie parents everywhere, beloved children’s show Bluey will be staying on air despite reports of an impending cancellation.

A report circulated earlier this week claiming that the voice of one of the show’s young actress had changed as she matured, leaving producers with either canning the show or re-casting a new lead.

“It has been one of if not the hardest and most heartbreaking decision the producers have had to make,” an anonymous source from Bluey‘s production studio told the Daily Mail.

“The show is obviously so profitable. But its legacy is also seen as more important than anything else so the idea is to go out on a high.”

However, the award-winning show’s distributer, Ludo Studio, has since cleared up the speculation, and confirmed Bluey would be continuing.

“Some of you have spotted some online speculation on the future of #Bluey. We absolutely love the show and there are no plans to end it,” a representative posted on Twitter.

“The community of fans around the world continue to blow us away and if we ever had an update on Bluey‘s future you’d hear it from us first.

“We always finish a season before planning the next one and right now we’re halfway through series three and really excited about the future – we can’t wait to share new episodes.”

From the moment the animated series aired on ABC four years ago in 2018, it was a huge hit with the kids.

Still popular to this day, there isn’t a child out there who isn’t familiar with the series, which follows the life of a Blue Heeler called Bluey and her family.

While we know who voices the adults on Bluey, the main character herself, as well as her younger sister Bingo, the voices behind them have long been kept a secret.

“All the children on the show are members of the family of people in production. I am so glad that the creatives on the show decided that no one would be in the credits to protect the young cast,” actress Melanie Zanetti, who voices Bluey’s mum Chilli, said in 2021.

The show has also welcomed a few local celebrities to voice a character or two, including Hamish Blake and his wife Zoë Foster Blake, who voiced a labrador and a poodle, respectively.
