“I’m looking for someone who can make me laugh,” Sam, 26, said on the show last night.
Before going on to reveal she’s far more concerned about a man’s personality than looks. “Looks fade. I want to laugh and laugh and laugh all the time.”
Just don’t send anyone that reminds her of last season’s Bachelor love-rat Blake Garvey her way!
“As soon as they walk out of the car and if they say, ‘I’m Blake,’ I’d be like ‘Cool, get out, just go,’” Sam joked.
The brunette beauty was famously jilted by Blake, who proposed to her in the final episode, only to leave her days after the episode aired, for runner-up Louise Pillidge.
This time round though Sam will be the one wielding the rose – but the role doesn’t come without it’s own pressures!
”’It’s quite nerve-wracking being the first Bachelorette. I’ve just got to wing it I guess,’ she told panel.
“I’m a little bit worried because you know they got confirmed last week and they’ve found out it’s me so I hope they’re not disappointed, they’ll be like, ‘Oh God, I was hoping for somebody else.’”
This time Sam will be the one wielding the rose!
So what exactly will the Bondi babe be looking for when evaluating her potential suitors?
“Definitely be yourself – I think one of the biggest things that I hate in guys is when they try and sell themselves, it’s like, ‘Oh I’ve got this great job and I’ve got these great things,’ and it’s like ‘Cool who are you as a person, I want to talk about your life and you and not all the things you have because I’ve got a beat-up Hyundai Getz so it’s not very appealing.”
So after such a disappointing ending to last year’s Bachelor series, what on earth convinced Sam to return to the airwaves for round two? The reality star even admitted yesterday to The Daily Telegraphthat “it would be pretty embarrassing” if she suffered the same fate as last year but is hopeful for a better outcome.
“I thought about it for a really long time, it’s not a decision I made overnight,” Sam told the The Project.
“The ending aside, I had the best time of my life. I’m still single. I like having a good time, so why not?”
She insists though that she’s learned some important lessons from her last experience, which she’ll put into practice now that she’s the one who can pick and choose.
“I’m going to be as respectful as possible because I know how it feels being on the other end,” Sam says.
Fingers crossed that Sam has better luck than last time!
