Charming, funny, and immensely talented, it wasn’t hard to see why Australia fell in love with Jack Wilson when he competed in Australian Ninja Warrior earlier this year.
And now, Jack’s back, and gearing up for round two. But this time, he’s determined to take out the title of Australia’s first ever Ninja Warrior.
“I want to win it,” Jack tells TV WEEK in an exclusive chat.
“Actually, I’m going to win it. I’m in training for season two now.”
At just 23-years-old, the outspoken Queenslander has already achieved an enormous amount.
Having overcome drug and alcohol abuse and transformed his life, Jack is now on a mission to inspire others to do the same.
“I’m doing Public Relations [work] now,” Jack explains.
“I’ve been travelling to schools and colleges and speaking to kids, youths and even adults. Telling them about my experiences, and how I made it on to Ninja Warrior. I feel like I have a responsibility to tell my story to others.”
While he never expected a life in the spotlight, Jack admits that he has enjoyed his newfound fame.
“It’s actually really cool because I’m known for a great thing,” he says.
“People look up to me now. It feels great to be inspiring people.”
Jack has recently earned himself yet another accolade, with the athlete scoring a nomination in the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards ‘sickest moves’ category, which premiered last night.
“This is a dream come true really. This is up there. This is history,” he said about being nominated.
Unfortunately he didn’t take home the award – he was beat by BMX rider Caroline Buchanan.
