Australian Ninja Warrior contestant and stuntman Johann Ofner tragically lost his life while filming a music video. He was 28-years-old.
He was accidentally killed by a gunshot earlier this year while filming a clip for Aussie hip-hop group Bliss n Eso.
Johann’s partner Kati Garnett, recently took to Facebook to share a highlights package put together of Johann’s time on the show.
“Here it is everyone,” she wrote. “We’ve been waiting so patiently to see our boy in action and absolutely kill Ninja Warrior.
Thank you for the team for making this highlights video for us to share with everyone. Watch carefully, listen wisely and take in the greatness.
You are one in a million and continue to inspire people each day with the morals, values and lessons you left with us on this earth.
Keep killing it up there my killah. We all love you so much. Enjoy everyone xxx”
Footage of Johann appeared throughout the series and the Nine Network have confirmed that this was intentional and not a mistake.
“We have the utmost respect for Johann and his involvement in Ninja Warrior and we want to honour his memory in the most appropriate way,” a spokesperson said.
“Contrary to reports, Johann Ofner’s inclusion in the leaderboards throughout Australian Ninja Warrior was intentional and part of our tribute to an incredible athlete.”
The show also aired a short tribute to the athlete on July 16.
Johann placed 6th overall in the completion that failed to produce a winner.
