The star of Network Ten’s Prison Break was injured on set last year when an iron bar fell on his head.

“I remember watching all this blood coming out of me like a tap,” Dominic, 47, tells TV WEEK.

“My head had been split open badly. I said to my stunt guy, ‘What’s this shadow on my cheek, and he said, ‘That’s your nose.’”

In addition to a broken nose, Dominic sustained a serious head injury that required 150 stitches.

Still, the actor can see the funny side of his accident.

“Throughout this season of the show, you’ll see my nose looks big, then it looks normal, then it looks big again,” he laughs.

Dominic, who reprises his Prison Break character Lincoln Burrows in the reboot, had to bulk up for the role. He says he had to add close to 20kg to look like Lincoln.

While he was happy to drop the weight once he’d finished shooting, he concedes some people are confused when they meet him.

“People see me now and say, ‘What’s up? You’re skinny!’” he says.
