Being nominated for the TV WEEK Gold Logie is something to celebrate. And while Amanda Keller is relishing this special moment, she admits she also feels an incredible sense of sadness.

โ€œThe minute anything amazing like this happens, I think of Mum,โ€ Amanda, 56, says. โ€œI think how amazed and thrilled she would be.โ€

Amandaโ€™s mother, Jennifer, passed away 12 years ago at the age of 70.

โ€œMum used to watch the Logies and was always hugely supportive of my career,โ€ Amanda recalls.

โ€œSheโ€™d just be so proud and as stunned as I am โ€“ especially to see me with heels on and attempting to paint my nails.โ€

Amanda knows her mum would be โ€˜thrilledโ€™ by her Gold Logie nomination.

For the past six years, Amandaโ€™s been at the helm of Network Tenโ€™s The Living Room, which has won three TV WEEK Logies for Best Lifestyle Program.

However, this is the first time Amanda has been nominated for the coveted Gold Logie and for Most Popular Presenter.

โ€œI always thought the Gold Logie was for hugely deserving grown-ups,โ€ she laughs. โ€œIโ€™ve worked with Ray Martin and heโ€™s won about 18,000 in a row. So I never thought for a second that Iโ€™d even be considered.โ€

Recalling the moment she found out she was in the running for the top gong, Amanda says her stomach churned.

โ€œIt was a physical reaction,โ€ she says. โ€œIโ€™m incredibly grateful, but it was so left of field โ€“ but the best left of field.

โ€œIโ€™m thrilled with the accolade,โ€ she enthuses. โ€œAnd Iโ€™m pleased this is the year Iโ€™ve been nominated. I feel like life just keeps getting better. The best of it is never behind you.โ€

The Living Room stars Dr. Chris Brown, Miguel Maestre and Barry Du Bois with Amanda.

So is it fair to say Amanda, who also hosts the Jonesy & Amanda WSFM breakfast radio show, has no plans to slow down just yet?

โ€œThereโ€™s nothing Iโ€™d change,โ€ she says. โ€œAs long as The Living Room is going, thatโ€™s where my heart is.โ€

And the feeling is mutual, with her co-hosts on The Living Room right behind their leading lady.

โ€œAmanda is an incredible human,โ€ Barry Du Bois, 57, says. โ€œSheโ€™s one of a kind and such a professional. No-one deserves this more than she does.โ€

With TVโ€™s night of nightโ€™s just days away, does Amanda have an acceptance speech ready to roll just in case?

โ€œIf I were to win, Iโ€™d be pathetically grateful and trying not to cry,โ€ she laughs. โ€œWith any luck, Molly Meldrum will run up and take the pressure off.โ€
