“Not finding that idol was the downfall and I’ve only got myself to blame.”

Things really didn’t go to plan for Australian Survivor contestant Adam last night.

If he had his time again, the 40-year-old international poker player would have done anything to get his hands on that idol.

“Not finding that idol was the downfall and I’ve only got myself to blame,” Adam tells TV WEEK.

He admits the pressure of the game really got to him.

“The paranoia that everyone feels out there, especially during the early stages when you don’t quite know who can be trusted, is pretty full-on,” he admits.

At one point, in what seemed like a very risky move, Adam told fellow tribe member Locky to vote him out.

“I knew that I had to do something to try and prove that I am a trustworthy guy,” he says. “My reason for saying that to him was to show how genuine I am. No-one in their right mind would ever say vote me off a show they’ve wanted to be on forever, so the fact I’m doing that should hopefully make you see I’m not lying to you.”

If you ask us, it sounds like some convoluted logic and unfortunately for Adam, it didn’t pay off.

So who does Adam think has what it takes to be the Sole Survivor? Despite being played by AK last night, Adam is putting his money on Tara.

“I would probably say Tara would be the best bet because she seems to be laying fairly low,” he says. “She’s also hilarious. She is the absolute class clown of that camp and everyone loves her.”
