The 61st TV WEEK Logie Awards are almost upon us and all eyes are set to be on the glitz and glamour of the red carpet to start the evening.
Finding the perfect outfit to greet the crowds and dazzle in front of the cameras can take months of preparation – and sometimes, the help of a talented celebrity stylist.
Donny Galella has worked his styling magic on countless stars for a range of glamorous events, including the TV WEEK Logie Awards.
This year, he’s lending his expertise to the start-studded guest list, including Home And Away’s Ada Nicodemou, who plays Leah on the Channel Seven series. With H&A nominated for Most Popular Drama Series, there’s extra reason to wow the crowd.

When it comes to dressing a red-carpet regular like the stunning Ada, Donny says it’s about trying something new and slightly daring.
“She’s definitely covered a lot of looks,” Donny, 39, tells TV WEEK, before hinting towards the look Ada will wear. “But then when I saw one particular trend – one that’s very dominant right now – I thought, ‘You know what? This is the year to do it!'”
The styling guru says the secret to nailing any look is finding what works for you and your body shape.
“Dress for who you are – don’t try to be somebody else,” Donny says. “And pick something you will be comfortable in.”
Ada couldn’t agree more.
“There are a lot of cameras and lots going on, so if you don’t feel comfortable, you won’t feel or look good,” the actress says as she peruses the rack of gorgeous gowns at our photo shoot.

Both Donny and Ada, 42, were thrilled to be working together to find the perfect dress – but even more so when Australian designer Steven Khalil stepped in to create a custom gown for the actress.
“He’s such a genius,” Ada enthuses, with Donny adding: “It’s a dream for both of us. As soon as we talked about what we wanted to do, he sketched up this design and we said, ‘Oh, my gosh – that’s it!'”
Once Ada makes it down the red carpet, the fun is only just beginning.
To make it through the evening’s events, she keeps her purse tactfully stocked.
“I always pack so much stuff!” Ada she says with a laugh before quizzing Donny about the dimensions of her bag.
“You need mints, lip gloss, a powder – I also love adding a highlighter or blush. You need your phone so you can take photos – and your ticket, of course!”

The 61st TV WEEK Logie Awards, with all its glitz and glamour, will take place on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at The Star Gold Coast in Queensland. All the action from the red-carpet arrivals and awards-show celebrations will be telecast on the Nine Network and 9Now.
