The Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life proved that you can never have too much of a good thing.
And, as it turns out, we weren’t the only ones left a little bereft after binge-watching all four episodes…
In an interview with Deadline, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel admitted they would both be happy to keep playing Lorelai and Rory.
In fact, Lauren Graham is just as in love with Lorelai as the rest of us.
“I would play [Lorelai) until my dying day,” she said. “It was so invigorating and fulfilling to do that work. In terms of an actor, I would never tire of that.”
However, she’s not 100 per cent convinced that we need more Gilmore Girls in our lives.
“I would never want it to feel like we overstayed our welcome.” Lauren explained. “There’s probably a way to keep these characters alive, but I don’t know if that’s the best thing for them.”
For those that haven’t yet seen the revival, you may want to stop reading here as there are spoilers ahead!
The revival ended with the infamous four words that were originally meant to be uttered at the end of the seventh season.
So what were they?
Rory: Mom?
Lorelai: What?
Rory: I’m pregnant.
BOOM!
“It certainly wasn’t the ending I was expecting,” Alexis admitted.
“That’s not an ending, that’s a cliffhanger!” Lauren added and she makes a very valid point.
So it’s only fair that Netflix locks in another revival ASAP.
Because the world needs to meet Rory’s baby and see Lorelai become the coolest grandmother ever.
While the stars may not be able to confirm the news, Deadline have reported that Netflix boss Ted Sarandos has let it slip that a second installment of the Gilmore Girls revival could be happening.
Ted told the UK Press Association that the streaming network is in “very preliminary” talks with creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palldino.
“People were really excited about more and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that,” Ted said.
