Patients come and go, but the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial just can’t seem to stay away. In the upcoming 14th season of Grey’s Anatomy, another fan favourite, Dr. Teddy Altman, is coming back for more medical mayhem.
Kim Raver, who played Teddy from 2009-2012, is set to walk the halls once more in a guest arc. At this stage it’s unknown how many episodes she will appear in.
Long-time fans will recall Teddy came onto the scene as a friend of Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) from the military. During her time at the hospital, the doctor became head of cardiothoracic surgery and caused a rift with Owen and Cristina (Sandra Oh) when she confessed her love for him. She also fell for a patient and later married him so he could use her health insurance. Unfortunately, he passed away soon after.
Teddy left in season eight to pursue her dream as chief of Army Medical Command.
[WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD]
While it is unknown what her upcoming storyline will be, we can guess it will revolve around Owen’s presumed-dead sister.
In the final weeks of season 13, Owen was given the shock of his life when it was revealed that she was in fact alive and Teddy had seen her. Owen and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) then embarked on a trip to bring his sister home.
Since Grey’s, the 48-year-old actress has gone on to star in a smorgasboard of hit TV shows including NCIS: Los Angeles, 24: Live Another Day, Bones and more recently APB.
We can’t wait to see Teddy back at it!
